Human Geography

Overview

Studying human geography involves understanding the similarities and differences between places on Earth. Geographers explore the intricacies of diverse cultures and regions, focusing on climate zones and landforms in physical geography and on cultural attributes like language, ethnicity, religion, political alliances, and economic interdependence in human geography.

If you have an interest in traveling or exploring specific countries, you're already an amateur geographer. This course will cover physical geography, including climate zones and landforms, and delve into the complexities of human geography.

Human geography classes develop critical-thinking skills to interpret the changing world. While in the past, world exploration required physical travel, in our age of globalization, the world often becomes more accessible without leaving your doorstep. Joining a human geography class is about refining these critical-thinking skills and understanding the interconnected global village.
